WHY DID YOU JOIN THE WALK: Ten years ago my step dad was diagnosed with lung cancer and I looked after him for over 6 months until he died in my arms. This loss had a huge affect on me and I became passionate about fundraising to help prevent cancer. I fully sympathise and understand the depths of despair and pain cancer causes to both those fighting it and their loved ones. I wanted to do all I could to help and support cancer research and treatment.
WHAT TRAINING HAD YOU DONE:
I took my dog on very long five mile walks, and attempted the stepper at the gym.
WHAT DID YOU LOOK FORWARD TO:
The mental exercise (definitely not the physical)! The scenery, the achievement of finishing my stage, and to help raise money for a worthwhile charity.
AFTER YOUR WALK - WHAT DID YOU DO TO CELEBRATE:
Had a bath, a spa, a sleep and loads to eat…
