Progress update on Cancer and Wellness Centre's construction works

The foundations of the Olivia Newton-John Cancer and Wellness
Centre have gone in and the concrete has been poured for the radiotherapy machine bunkers. The wellness philosophy has been embraced in the design for the entire Centre.

Project Officer Rohan Vaughan said,

"It is very exciting to see the Centre starting to grow from the ground up."

Cancer trial gives new hope

A 51 year old father of two, Glenn Ford found out he had kidney cancer after visiting his doctor for a cough that wouldn’t go away. The cancer had already spread to his lung which was not only a massive shock to Mr Ford but also testament to how quickly certain cancers can spread.

"It came as such a shock."

But Mr Ford has been given hope since participating on a clinical trial with the Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research, at the Austin Hospital.

"After only two weeks, doctors had told me that my cancer had shrunk. That's all I wanted to hear."

Cancer and Wellness Centre funding boost from Victoria Government
